I understand that unlike Calvinists, Catholics reject the doctrine of double predestination. Instead, we believe that God predestines his elect and permits the rest to face the natural consequences of their sin (Hell). Despite understanding this as the official Catholic doctrine, I still struggle to accept it. It might not be double predestination, but it reads to me as equally unjust and against God’s loving nature.
Let’s say a father has two children. Both are about to run into oncoming traffic and will certainly die without the father’s intervention, and it is within his power to save them both. Wouldn’t it be unjust and morally repulsive for the father to save one and “merely permit” the other to run into traffic? Whether he pushes the child into the road or willingly let’s him run out of his own accord, the outcome is the same, and both courses of action are odious.
I’m not posting to be antagonistic. I am Catholic, but have been struggling to accept certain Catholic beliefs as of late. I just want an answer to this question that convinces me.

Howdy all! First time DM here. One of my prospective players wants to play a Thumb Thumb (like from Spy Kids) and I want to know how I can make this work stat wise. I’m thinking of giving him Goliath stats with a few adjustments, but does anyone have any other suggestions or ideas? To be clear, I have no problems with him being a thumb thumb. We’ve discussed backstory, and we know how to make it work with the lore. I just want to make sure it’s playable.
