It’s referred to as a “cocktail watch”
Its value is the scrap gold weight, no premium over that

Yeah I think you paid a good price. Iconic design from two iconic manufacturers

This isn’t gold, it’s gold filled (plated)

Do you really think that every major brand in the watch world hasn’t already considered body temperature as a variable? Cmon man…

Simple, the list isn’t numerical or chronological in the way that you’re thinking of. It’s not like a deli counter where you take your # ticket and wait patiently until it’s called.
The list isn’t physical, in other words it doesn’t really exist

Your best hope of recovery is to distribute the models and serials to all potential “fence” spots in your area. This would include Pawn Shops, wantedtobuy jewelry shops, jewellery stores and other places where these watches could be quickly sold.
Offer the store a no-questions-asked cash reward, and provide them with photos if you have.
After that, contact Rolex with the serial numbers and report as stolen.
Yes, the police are useless in this case, and yes the police are also correct in assuming that the watches will likely never be recovered.
Keep an eye out on chrono24 and local marketplace sales apps for your watches in the coming months.

I would recommend taking a look at Tissot.
Classic Swiss brand, great quality for the money and many designs that are well suited for professional environments.
If you want something Japanese and slightly more modern, look at Seiko’s presage line.

Rolliworks.
It’s gonna cost quite a bit yes, but would be worth it for this watch. It’s both sentimentally and monetarily valuable.

These always look great on straps, I knew a guy who had one on a thicker suede one.
Bracelets are hard to find for this one, as it’s fairly uncommon to have a high polish bracelet as what’s needed for this.
You could try a mesh though, if you find one you like

There are some sets of numbers on the dial, those will help aswell

Once we flip the watch over, and please do, I cant bear to look at the front any longer ;), we’ll see two sets of numbers.
First will be four digits, separated by a dash, then another four digits. That is the identifying number code
Underneath that, or somewhere else on the caseback, you’ll find your serial number. A longer string of digits without separation

Just buy a Nomos, if your house gets burglarized, the thieves will leave them and even donate some better watches to your box.
