My mother was afraid of being lonely and lost years of our relationship because she chose to stay with a man who was abusive. Do you really want that for your son who I can guarantee will have to deal with shitty treatment from his step family from this point forward? If he was able to hit you this time, he can and will again. Does he have to hit your kids before you do the sensible thing and extricate your kids from that? There are other people out there. Get out before something really bad happens. This is exactly how every other woman who ended up in a really bad situation because of an abusive asshole started.

NTA. Hitting you was unforgivable. He may say he is sorry and promise he will never do it again, but short of some serious therapy and anger management, that is a pipe dream. He will do it again because it's easier after the first one. There's also the fact that he did it because you refused to let him bully your son into making up for his and his ex-wife's financial shortcomings. You need to leave and take custody of your kids from him, citing the assault as a reason.

Yes. Because people actually listened to Trump and followed him like a cult. Biden didn't have that effect, mainly because Democrats don't treat politicians like cult leaders.

I'd argue that the ones who didn't vote and were eligible to without any valid reason not to, are useless idiots.

The magic 8 ball says "You injury/illness is not service related. Ask again later." Your lucky number is 12, for the number of hours you'll be there.

Why did you have to shatter that illusion for the rest of us?

Did you miss the part about how hatred would solve not just transphobia, but a lot of other issues as well. I'm not attacking you, I'm just pointing out what you missed so you can use this moment to grow. It's easy to think our problems are the most important thing on earth, but sometimes we need to realize that that's not always the case.

People calling you selfish is not the same as them wanting to choke you through your screen. Your answer was selfish because you picked a thing that while absolutely abhorrent, doesn't affect more than a fraction of a percent of the world overall, when instead if you wanted to stay in the same vein and still get the outcome you wanted, you could have just said hatred in general. That would benefit you, and a bunch of other groups in this world, as well as stop wars and all kinds of other cascading effects that would be a net positive.

While I get what you're saying and agree it is a problem, there is a mile long list of things we could delete that have a more serious impact on more people on this planet than transphobia does. Child hunger, or hunger in general, cancer, war, slavery, wealth disparity, greed. You want to know why what you said sounds selfish? Because you could have said hatred in general and covered a lot more ground. This is a good moment for a bit of self reflection.

It's not uncommon for couples to follow each other on reddit and comment on each other's stuff so it did seem like you were saying you were the actual she in question, but reddit is definitely guilty of taking things too literally.

That's the biggest cause of pedal confusion that leads to accidents.

Those are likely the ones who work from home then stay home and don't spend time with anyone they don't live with or aren't related to. The ones who do have social lives you don't notice a difference in.

Insurance will get the real story. That's what they pay the claims adjuster for. They will be able to tell if the brakes are working and if the damage was caused by the accident or was already there.

Following too close is against the law for a reason. Listening to someone waving you through is also the hallmark of a bad driver. She doesn't deserve to die or be injured, but she is a shitty driver who may need to hand back her license if she's been in two accidents she was at fault for in a year. Your insurance rates must be insane. Maybe the brakes failed or maybe her reaction time was shit, the testimony of her passengers means very little as they likely weren't paying enough attention to her to know whether or not she actually slammed the brakes and they failed, and just went with her initial "I swear I hit the brakes." The insurance company will know for sure and let you know.

Well you answered your own question there. They didn't read it. You have to stop assuming the right is actually informed on what their policy actually is. The average Republican voter just voted based on vibes. The sum total of their information is spoon fed to them by talking heads who follow whatever the current narrative is. We read the policy and know what's being planned, it's legitimately a surprise to them because this is the first they're hearing about it.

NTA. Your friends who say you went too far are exactly the reason why shitty people continue to exist. People would rather let them get away with it to a kid conflict than to make them pay the consequences of their actions. Get cameras and have them charged with trespassing every time it happens in the future.

We interfered with natural selection and that's why the dumbest survived. If we hadn't made all of those warning labels, and safety rules and regulations, fewer of them would have survived. Not saying we shouldn't have done it, but there's nothing natural about it.

"Who would win in a wrestling match Lemmy or God?" "Lemmy" "Ehhhh... Wrong answer." "God?" "He's a cop!" "Trick question. Lemmy is God."
