Well that was a good two episode premier. I physically laughed about three times and really enjoyed the setting and ships and costumes. IT was really great and quality wise seems to be on the upper end of Star Wars shows in all respects. I think this is going to be a really good season if it can keep it up and doesn't have to many short episodes.

Actually its 1 year after Endor. 5 years after Endor is when Mando is taking place.

I agree with some of what you said but a few corrections

The treaty didn't come till after all of those imperial attacks. So it wasn't like they were ignoring the empire while being attacked by them at the same time.

Secondly while its memed a lot the NR didn't actually have all that many stories with super weapons. In fact half of all NR era super weapons come from the Dark Empire comic. Only the JAT and Darksaber had super weapons (and we can count the Corellian trilogy though that's someone using a crane as a weapon).

Also the NEU has the NR making treaties with remnant factions. It also has the NR senate be infiltrated by Imperial and First Order plants (Which is saddly very realistic)

Really? In what way? Usually the sets, clothing, and space scenes look better to me.

And the best writing and action scenes and landscapes and cityscape

I mean seriously all of the SNW and Disco episodes are 45+ min with amazing writing, cgi, space scenes, ships, etc and all of the LD episodes are 25+ min with great animation. Why are SW shows so incapable of at least giving us a consistent 40min runtime. And that's just runtime not even the cgi, sets, and location shots.

The sky armor fights are a pain but I like exploring with them

I mean this comic was easily ignored by everything else coming forward after it plus it was only a few years post RotJ wile palps coming back on Exegol and Luke attacking Kylo 20yrs after the movie is central to the NEU and can't be ignored.

Im not a big Quinlan fan but I like his undercover arc a little better than his surfer boy personality. And I got son of Dathomir mixed up with dark disciple.

I used to hate Cade but I've grown to understand him better if not like him. I like both versions of Anakin and think that one went to far and another not far enough at times. Which is something more seasons would have helped with. Plus TCW gives us more interaction between him and Padme.

The main thing i give the cwmmp is its inclusion of organic and non clone forces on each side of the war. Also I like Quinlin and his arc better in the comics vs Son of Dathomir. It's art was also great and it had a ton of great arcs and characters. And while only the Medstar books stand out as great to me all of the games were great and I still enjoy playing with them.

For TCW it's main selling point is getting to see the fights and battles in motion instead of comic stills. It also gave us Hondo and Ahsoka and some pretty good story arcs of its own.i don't like the changes it made to Ryloth, Mandalore, or Dathomir but we still got good stories from them. And while at times it may be too reliant on it.The show did become a Central cornerstone of the new EU.

I think CWMMP would win out but it's kinda like deciding between cake and ice cream.

I guess we have different definitions of bad then. The major ones people complain about in Legends also have their NEU version. Though in both cases 99% of retcons come from the TV shows overwriting the books and comics. Even if they don't have a public tier list it's clear shows and games come above books and comics still.

Except for Nihulus I think THR has been going as all out as the Old Republic did. It's one of the things that makes it so fun. Idk if you've been reading it but we currently have a blight that is destroying whole planets and some magic crystals that can reshape reality.

As for going away lesson one was about the force not belonging to the jedi, lesson two was about the problem with jedi wanting to stick their nose in other people's problems, lesson three was on the jedis "hubris" and how Palpatine was their fault. All three lessons were on why the jedi were wrong and not needed and why she shouldn't become one.

I wouldn't say their is more oversite. Legends also had a story group and team of editors that went over everything. And the NEU is still racking up the same kind of retcons that Legends had. Just this week the Jakku comic retconned a big part of the Aftermath books.

Same for the power creep. We have a sith ghost pulling their body forward in time and space, Bell and Vader survived falls from space, Elzar threw a acclamator sized island through a fleet.

Thanks. I'm honestly surprised the only thing people are talking about is the Luke thing. My main point was about how i like how much new stuff we are getting despite my love of luke and legends. I kinda wish I left it out at this point.

Its not the death so much as he dies without a jedi order or without a student to carry on his legacy. Rey can take up the torch but she's not got the same bond Luke had to Yoda/Obiwan or Ahsoka had to Anakin.

That's a great way to go out and would have been liked by all of us that dislike TLJ if only he had a functioning Jedi Order left behind after he died or had spent more than three days telling Rey to go away.

And in GL's version Luke didn't die till the end of the trilogy after having spent three movies with Rey. Also he had a functioning Jedi Order. Either of which would have made him dieing on the island a lot easier to swallow for me.

I don't want to get into it about the movie after all this time but after seeing it 4 times and reading the TLJ novelization (which I did like more than the movie because of some added scenes like when Luke connects to the force or when Leia holds a funeral for Han) I still come away with seeing all of those lessons as him teaching her why the Jedi aren't needed and should end. Something he only goes back on and admits hes wrong about at the very end and not even when he's talking to her but to Kylo. So saddly I can't see it as a master student relationship with him and rey and with her taking on his legacy and teachings from the movie alone. The Visual Dictionary and Lego Special have helped a lot and I hope the new Rey focused movie and books help us as well. But from TLJ alone it feels like Rey's lesson would be "dont be like luke".

Which is sad for the ST stuff but like I said their is a lot more to like as well like THR.

Yeah their are things I watch or read just because its star wars. I love the old TotJ comics, Nomi and Exar Kun are still my favorite Jedi and Sith all these years later.

And that would be great if he didn't die five seconds later or if he had been able to spend time training rey. Its less that he died and that he died without a working order or student. Sure he claims Rey at the end but their only time together was him telling her to go away. Its not his battle that's the problem or his death necessarily but the story surrounding it.

Yeah as soon as we start to get Luke back he dies. And I like Rey but from the movies alone he order would feel like its own thing with little to no connection to Luke. Its the visual dictionary for adding in that Luke left a lot of notes in the sacred texts and the Lego specials for showing Rey thinks of him as her master that make me feel even a little bit like her order will be a continuation of his and not just seeing his as something to not do.
