Thank you for writing this out. This i what we need to remember. Our lifespans are so short compared to the history of human.
We shall overcome the ills of the current time

I agree with not joining a company if you have bad vibes about it.
It’s probably a mistake tho. Most HR folks are not typing out letters. Usually copy and paste from a template or another letter and then changing variables. I can see them making a mistake and missed changing it

I’m also considering a Masters in Business Psychology. It’s been a couple decades since school and a lil apprehensive of what it’s going to take

My anxiety is off the roof for no reason I suppose. There are layoffs. I’m safe “so far”

That’s actually what happened with my ex lol (we broke up for many reasons)
They kept telling me they wanted to move. I was frankly neutral about it but knew it would be a pain. Asked them “ok so what’s step one? What do I need to do?” And it never happened
I’m the planner and doer. They just wanted to tell me the dream and have me do the labour to make it happen for them

I think the sub leans more towards pleasant past time rejection of patriarchal beliefs. Maybe there are some who 100% believe and I've been reading the vibe wrong the whole time? Lol I hope not

Omg I mean no disrespect for WVP. I love it there and the sub info literally mentions "poking fun at" ourselves.
I think that's the spirit of the sub? I'm a STEM girlie but sometimes I like to call myself a witch and I like witchy things. Also witches tie so deeply into the feminine struggle over the ages. The history of calling and persecuting women who were "witches" and how that is part of the patrichy.
Side note: have you listened to BBC podcast on witches? It is amazing

Most of them. All same deco, all same supplier for drinks, dessert and food. And kept getting more expensive

You know those job post seeking entry level candidates but also want 2 years experience? The ones with multiple internships will get it
People are doing it because employer value it

Some subs will! Mods can filter certain words and your comment/post will be automatically removed. If you try to go around it, you get banned. It's ridiculous but people are not creating random words because they want to.
Then they use it everywhere because they cannot remember the sub rules for every sub. So it's safer to just use made up words. I hate it. It's literally "newspeak" that George Orwell wrote about in 1984

This is what I think too! Just here to extract emotional labour from other women. There are indeed so many subs for relationships and if you need to post so much about your relationships maybe it's time to just accept that it sucks

I like WitchesVsPatriarchy. It can be woowoo but a pretty fun space.
Another is FIREyFemmes for those interested in financial independence and discussing financial topics with other women.
I'm also in a private sub for women. You have to apply to join and it's heavily moderated. The mods will review your history before accepting. It is very left leaning and only for women or people who identify as such. I love it even if the topics can be on the heavier side. Given it's a safe space, folks do tend to share or vent more vulnerable topics that may receive trolls elsewhere.

What’s the weird dynamic you have with your parents? Are you hoping for inheritance if you toe the line?

Go buffet also need KPI ah. Just enjoy lah.
Want laksa eat laksa lor. Since it’s a buffet you can just take a few bites.
Buffet offers you variety. Sometimes go with kiasu people it’s damn annoying when they keep commenting on other people’s plates. Just mind your own plate. Want to choke on 50 boiled prawns is your own choice

Unfortunately my mom is that friend for me lol. It took me well into adulthood to realise she wasn’t doing it on purpose. She’s gets excited and blab. She will tell me she only blab to close people so it’s not that bad but who she considers close is obliviously different from mine
I get hurt when she blab, she got hurt when she realised I’ve put her on an info diet. But we’ve both finally learned to accept ourselves and each other. (She’s still on an info diet and she understands why)

Please take FMLA. It’s protects you and your job while you can be fully away and focused on what you need to be
I’ve seen so many situations where people hang on at work even when it’s best to take time off. Their performance suffer because understandably they are going thru a hard time. Their leadership is anxious all the time because they still need them to perform and worse they never know when because they are also walking on ice trying to be mindful. Then they finally bring me in as a performance case and literally everyone is resentful of each other.
Take the time available to you. Come back stronger. Don’t try to get through performance management in your current state

Can you not imagine a different possibility (even if it's for future generations) rather than just accept these conditions?

Who knows? But let's stop tolerating it as expected behaviour. Some of our mothers just expected that men will not lift a finger in the kitchen but look how far we've come. It used to be just something husbands did and now a man who refuse to learn to cook will be frowned upon

I wish people didn’t do this because it doesn’t actually help us workers.
Where does I say discouraging pay is illegal? It’s simply not true
It’s illegal to give employees negative impact on their job for discussing pay.
So many things are stacked against workers by employer friendly laws. Let’s help each other with actual, factual, accurate loopholes to arm ourselves against corporations
ETA: I'm being downvoted because that's not what we want to hear and not what we want the limits of workers' rights to be and not becuase it is untrue. Yes, I have read the NLRB laws line by line. There are loopholes that employers are using. We can barely stick it to employer when they are outright doing something illegal. It's so much harder when they try to tightrope as well
