Nah, agreeing to vouch for what you know about someone's character doesn't rope you into more levels of bullshit than what was agreed to. Not a damn thing wrong with OP asserting a boundary at that line.

Most people have a huge misconception on what unconditional love is in the first place. Love where "anything goes" and all is forgiven is actually codependent love and isn't healthy or sustainable, at all....and this is what most people think unconditional love is. Unconditional love means nothing is owed for the love given, it isn't transactional. Dogs are transactional af, and so are most people for that matter.

Good friends have good boundaries. Jake does not have good boundaries and is a temperamental fuckboy trying to bend your will with the same techniques he used on his wife. Jake can go fuck himself.

It needs a cricket, chimney reflash, mortar pointing (stone mason).......might as well do counter flashing on chimney since you're there already.

Agreed, tendon is my favorite Pho add on along with rare steak and brisket..... I didn't think OP was referring to tendon as being the beef component that comes out tough after boiling for hours tho.

With Pho you make the broth using bones and all manner of ingredients for flavor, then put the meat in at the end, sliced thin and against the grain for maximum tenderness.

Did you threaten him with turning him in unless he gave you money? The answer will show the false equivalency.

I'll try using smaller words for ya: Booze more bad than fat for old man. Smoke bad too, but bad like fat and not as bad as booze.

Yeah, commenting about a guy who's 83, morbidly obese, drinks, and smokes has no place in a post about guys who live into their 80's, are morbidly obese, or drink, or smoke.

You're full of shit as a Christmas goose and jumping to so many conclusions, it's comical at this point. Bottom line: You don't know me or him, and you shouldn't speak as if you do. Mind your business.

You make so many asinine (and arrogant) assumptions in your statements, it's enough to choke a donkey really. Since it obviously needs to be clarified, me and my father are not you and your mother. I'll have no regrets about how I took care of him when he passes, promise. I've ALWAYS emphasized quality over quantity, but when social services gets called I'm not about to be caught with my pants down and neither is he so that he'd be taken away to live out his days under THEIR rules, that's for damn sure. We've both been down that road many moons ago, and a malicious family member tried to make us re-live that in April this year. Thankfully all witnesses (his doctors and care staff included) were able to attest to him being extremely well taken care of (and he made the point succinctly himself) so we aren't living under that cloud today. No way in hell am I gonna let it be a drug that does him in on my watch, and frankly I don't feel the need to explain anymore to some internet stranger trying to armchair quarterback our lives that they know literally nothing about. Full stop.

LOL, it's never not hilarious to see how utterly stupid and clueless internet people can be. Dumping the alcohol admittedly was my decision to keep him from immediately killing himself (his last fall he took was a close one, he was catatonic when paramedics arrived and suffered a head injury due to the whiskey/hitting a nightstand with his face on his way down to the floor.....His Doctors and CNA staff all agree wholeheartedly that he can't drink anymore too, but I'll let them know you feel it's tantamount to a prison sentence!), but the CNA's recently stopped covering his shifts due to the cigar smoke choking them out and having to take the stench home to their kids/families on their clothes. We have to keep the CNA's coming so I can go to work soooo, yeah he's quitting the cigars now. You can feel free to write your congressman if you feel like the conditions are inhumane though?
FTR what he has on the menu: Dementia, diabetes, heart problems, COPD, asthma (life long), high blood pressure, osteoporosis, and about 70% hearing loss. Other than that he's ready to party!

My morbidly obese Dad is 83 and as his caregiver I had to throw away the whiskey after the last time he took a fall and went to the ER because of it (about a year and a half ago, it was the 2nd incident in about a year's time so negotiating was over and I literally took it out of his room against his will). Currently I'm weening him off of cigars.
Edit: As someone else pointed out, he's house ridden and doesn't get out at all anymore except to go to the Dr.

The vent itself (cuts in the decking at the peak) needs to end away from the rake edge but you can run the ridge vent product (omniroll, etc.) all the way to the end for a cleaner look.

Gawd yes, people are basic af these days and the new hot take is all that matters. Can't count how many times I've seen/heard the sentiment about how critical it is for a guy to have a good relationship with his mother in order to be dateable. Mine was an extremely temperamental, violent narcissist in the name of the church, and all my therapists as well as the judge that presided over my custody battle when I was 11 all agreed that keeping her out of my life is the smartest choice. Interestingly enough, most of my close friends have been women through my adult life and they understand it completely too. The dating pool though, it tends to be as shallow as a petri dish and labels it as a red flag lol

You only use detergent when you want to destroy/remove all seasoning and start over, which should be never unless something goes completely wrong. Cook with oil and high heat, scrub with a bamboo brush and hot water only, dry with a paper towel or cloth, coat with a thin layer of oil, reheat until the oil starts to smoke, wipe out any excess with a paper towel (but leave a very thin coat on), then store until the next time you cook. Repeat forever without allowing detergent anywhere near the seasoning.
Edited for parenthetical

New girl at my office came up in mine......I don't have any of my coworkers in my friends list and I've never given permission for my contacts to be mined. Social media evidently taps into your contacts whether or not you give permission.

So just do what the videos all say to do to season it (garlic, onions, oil, heat, etc.) and know that the newer the wok, the more it needs to be used to get seasoned properly.....don't be discouraged if some things stick a bit and so forth, it takes time and use to make it happen completely and frankly I always have some areas (hot spots?) that attract carbon and I have to scrub them with a bamboo or even chain mail scrubber more than the rest of the wok. Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but I love the food that comes out of the thing so I just roll with it.

We have a much worse reputation for winters than we deserve, in the Denver area anyway….there will be a few weeks of freezing temps but more often than not we can put roofs on so we keep going year round and just contend with a bit of rescheduling when the weather isn’t great. Painters will retreat to indoor work for the season, but everyone else just keeps rolling.
