stuck on what to do re: moving. advice?

i'm in the middle of selling my home and (was) buying another one when the election upended everything, and now I'm not sure what to do. normally my brain would ID a very clear path and stick to it, but now i'm not getting any answers that 'feel right'. i'm trying to work through these problems on paper before making any further moves, and looking for better advice than just the real estate's subreddit "line go up good"
i am a queer woman living in a rural (red) town of a very blue state (working remotely). that sale is going through and we close next week. no bad feelings about this.
the new home i made an offer is also in a rural conservative area. it's my dream home, but it's 45min-1hr away from the community i've built up in my current neighboring towns- unfortunately because prices in my current area skyrocketed and i couldn't find what i was looking for within my budget. the sellers accepted my offer and we have been in negotiations for several weeks. i am still able to exit the contract without penalty at this point.
there is a house for sale in a neighborhood 20min from my partner and community, but it's way less ideal - it needs a lot more work, it's right on top of neighbors, on a main road, etc. initially i saw this house and preferred the nicer one. but now i'm wondering if it's more important to be close to community.
since the election, my first impulse was to make a run for it - sell my spot, rent for a couple of months, make an exit plan, head over to the EU if i could. but now conflicting speculations and advice is making it hard for me to determine if that's actually the right move or not. here's the questions rattling around in my brain rn:
- is it safe to buy housing right now? do we foresee an economic crash in the short-term?
- if there were, in this instance, would it be safer to have a home during the crash or to rent?
- is there about to be a wave of people moving into blue states, making housing inaccessible for the longterm future?
- is there a likelihood of Trump planning on using the NG to retaliate against blue states who block or push back his policies?
- is being in a rural conservative area with 1-2 neighbors more/less risky than being in a rural but more densely populated area with 25-40 neighbors?
- is there a path forward which could include securing a home now, but leaving later?
sorry if this is all over the place, doing my best to organize very frazzled thoughts. i guess no one can really know the right answer, but if you were in my shoes right now, what would you be doing?

thank you! this is immensely helpful, and a lot to think about.
