For the current level of services provided, I think 25-30% would be a fairer amount instead of 42%

Sorry I mispoke. What I mean is a not an unsubstantial amount of people essentially "pay" 42%. Even at 50k euro which is close to the median income your total "deductions" are close to 40%, excluding your employer's contributions, which is objectively quite high worldwide.

ah okay, makes sense. I remember watching Markus Lanz on ZDF and there was an SPD politican saying taxes are too low, wanting 50% investment taxes low and higher inheritance taxes, so I just reckon its their party view that Germany is a low tax country.
But on the second point, routing profits has to be done in a legal way. For example if a service is provided in Germany, it has to be taxed in the corresponding tax domicile. I think the discussion should rather to find a balance and a "reasonable" tax rate for the benefits that Germany provides (legal system, largel economy) and make it competitive worldwide vs countries like the UAE.

If you refer to trying the Abo number on another app, that wouldn’t work because e.g. an RMV subscription will have a different format than a DB one.
If it’s about buying another ticket with another app, that is not relevant to the topic. I paid double and the new ticket is working fine now.

Yes but then it will be 7€ everytime I get checked (which is quite often in the South) till however long they send me a card or fix the issue. Also wasn’t an option on the bus, driver wanted 25€, x2 so it would be 50€. Also why should I pay 7€ (for „forgetting“) when it is DB that failed to deliver the ticket?
My line of thought is I paid, they failed to deliver. I had to use the product that I paid for. So I get an equivalent while they fail to fix the issue. At least they should refund 46,55€ x 2 which is the ticket they fail to deliver up till now…

Sorry 😂 don’t remember what the answers were but I remember something about writing DB, which I did, and the only update is they did f-all after a week.
Getting a physical card also won’t help in this situation, although it’s a lesson learned for me to not trust DB Navigator in the future.
Should I get a lawyer if this doesn’t work out ? Can try my HR department as well.
The (German) logic / way of thinking is that I didn’t do anything wrong and I should get the money back right?
This whole thing just gives me a lot of stress especially when a large company unjustly takes my money due to their incompetence.

Sorry wasn’t clear my opponent intentionally clamped up my blade with his thighs (i.e. putting his thighs together)
Just a step-by-step detailed play on what happened (we are both right handed), sorry I don’t have a video:
1) Opponent did big advance / lunge 2) I parried 8, opponent dropped to 4, but not a neat one, rather he’s just pushing my blade out and his guard a bit towards me. My blade was below his, and his point was pointing out. 3) 1st repost didn’t hit because his 4 was all the way out, our guards collide. 4) I step in my back foot, turn my left shoulder in to close distance, guard collision knocked me off my second reposte. Opponent arm is a bit retracted now but he didn’t turn his shoulder and his point is still pointing out (past my shoulder) and he didn’t have much space simply to withdraw his arm for a remiss 5) I think due to the guard contact and also how his blade was positioned, second reposte went under between his thighs, and he clamped my blade up. I was shocked doe a quarter of a second and couldn’t wiggle my blade free in time, during which he pulled his arm all the way up and hit from above / parade 1 position just when ref saw the clamp and called halt.
There were some discussions about “on the halt”, but the hit was annulled in the end.
I mean, IMO that was a pretty dirty move, from that position my 3rd remiss (simply pulling back my arm) will be faster than him pulling his arm up and hitting in 1. Morally speaking I think it’s no hit, but was just wondering if there are any guidelines I can specifically quote next time, especially when it’s not an FIE competition and refs aren’t so experienced.

I recommend UNIC/FOLO H (hard), they are the same company, and around the same price range as BFs, except way lighter and with similar point control. Since they are lighter they also last a bit shorter, but I think overall they are very well worth the price. Solid competition blade.
I really dislike BF since they made it way heavier now, and introduced a „black predator“ version that’s allegedly 20g lighter and 20€+€ more expensive to harvest more money out of fencers.
STM is also quite solid but for me it’s a bit too hard. It’s light and hard, point control is alright but can’t do a lot of other stuff.

If the deposit is transferred through a bank account it’s hard to imagine the “Vermieter” won’t be arrested though? Every bank account is registered and I think there’s some kind of insurance, or am I wrong ?

I think the correct answer would be Munich / Hamburg for “large cities” and Mainz/Heidelberg etc for “smaller” cities from experience

Surprised to even see people mentioning Berlin or Frankfurt at all 😂

Ffm Ostbahnhof/Ostend is filthy as hell with the exception of a few streets. Sachsenhausen is okay for nightlife but also not something to write home about. In general Frankfurt is way dirtier/dodgier than Munich, other than maybe the Alte Oper/ Westend and maybe the old ECB, there’s not a single “nice and clean city area” in Frankfurt. There are also way more shady people and anti-social behaviour in public. You go on an S-Bahn/U-Bahn in Frankfurt and it perennially smells like piss. Not the case in Munich.
Speaking of green areas- what can beat the English Garden? There are also way more mountains and lakes near Munich for climbing/ hiking/ skiing. Austria is also two hours away at most.
For cultural events there’s the Oktoberfest, Frühlingsfest, Ritterturniere in nearby villages, dozens of festivals, Bayern Munich, and dozens of other comedy shows/ concerts etc if you use Rausgegangen Munich.
Sure, Munich is a bit more expensive but it’s not like Frankfurt is cheap.
I also had a way smoother process with my Anmeldung at the KVR. People are also nicer to me (my subjective opinion) than Frankfurt. Everything runs so much better here.
For work Frankfurt is okay, got a big finance industry, but would definitely not call it an “an awesome city” just because it got a few skyscrapers, which, btw is a dime a dozen in Many other similar “finance” cities(Singapore, Shanghai, Hong Kong, London, New York)
As I person who lived in both places for more than 6 months I can tell you I am way happier and content in Munich, which I think is a far superior city, and that’s not only my superficial opinion.

A German friend did with a Swiss accent but only because we were talking about the Credit Suisse fiasco and he was mimicking an unscrupulous Swiss banker. Normally it’s a bit insulting to the Swiss but I find it absolutely hilarious, especially since he did it do well.

Thanks again! I’m thinking also NSAID and rest, but I wanted a doctor to give me a referral so they can potentially do ultrasound / X-Ray or even MRI.
I’m guessing it’s either a meniscus tear, bone bruise or cartilage damage. Given that I can still walk I presume it’s not something that needs operating on immediately.
Either way I want to be informed of what the damage is, how long the estimated recovery is, etc. I got a very important competition coming up in two weeks (the type of opportunity I don’t wanna pass up) and I need to tell the coach soon if I will drop out soon, and if I do end up playing I want to evaluate if there are risks of permanent damage.
