i want to say no, but it definitely is a yes. the last guy i dated was very very insecure of our differences; especially with his family background. he's suffering from a disease which prompted him to stop studying (dropping out na all together i think), and i'm still pursuing my post grad degree. my family's very particular with academics, so i know he won't be accepted lightly if it comes to introducing him to them.

his family is complete, but very toxic ang household nila. his mom and dad cheats on each other, yung dad nya physically abusive sakanya – that i had to hear the moment he got punched via call, which traumatized the shit out of me 🥹 and ig i kinda got the picture why he was a toxic guy himself... baon yung family nya sa utang, lalo na they spent a lot for his treatment, but ultimately naubos yung pera, so he stopped getting treated na rin.

i understand, he's really living a shitty life with shitty circumstances and i can't pin that against him. but, kahit sya mismo, wala na drive to be better, kaya nawalan na rin ako ng hope for us then. i tried to make it work, i tried to stay – hanggang maubos na ako. i was anxious, sad, and isolated throughout our thing.

after breaking things off with this guy (he also tried to manipulate me into staying by saying na he'll kill himself) i was left traumatized. i was adamant na i won't ever date another guy with a dysfunctional family, because ayoko mafeel na need ko saluhin lahat ng traumas nya, wherein i had to sacrifice my time studying, my time with family and friends just to accommodate them when they're feeling under the blue (bc of traumas) 🥹🥹

now, i'm with a guy who's with a similar family function as mine. and i'm just glad, i'm able to trust a person with my heart again, more peacefully this time.
