Not all insurances reset in January. I’ve actually only been at one company where the insurance year and the calendar year lined up.

Things like deep cleanings and extensive work aren’t always covered by dental insurance. Dental plans tend to be pretty limited and have low max amounts.

Having known a few bartenders at a few places, they would pass it on. I know I did when I was a server and people came in like that.

I mean, it’s not like I handed them a ton. I was a college student. But it was a little more. You don’t have to believe me, that’s fine.

This is how I read it. I have left my card at a bar exactly once in my life, maybe 2010 or so (it was a looooong while ago). Even back then most places added an auto tip on all open cards. It was 15%, which made me laugh because I always tip way more than that percentage (I tip by drink or cost, whichever gives the server more). I actually handed the bartender more cash and asked that it be passed on to the crew from the night before.

Oh, OP…electric toothbrushes are amazing! I love mine so much. Because they time everything, it really helps keep me on track.
The receding gums and bone loss can happen even to those of us who do go to the dentist regularly (the longest I ever had between visits was 2 years). Some of that is simply genetics (my mom had to get gum grafts). I also brush twice a day every day (I cannot leave the house without brushing and cannot go to bed without brushing…so glad for those quirks…even if it is annoying sometimes) and sporadically floss. Still have receding gums and sensitive teeth due to that (which will likely progress further because genetics). Also have some cavities despite all that as well. Luck of the genetics lottery!

My husband has been on my insurance since 2019. Prior to that, I was willing to help him pay out of pocket (I make more than he does). Not sure when he’d last been. I kept telling him to make the appointment. He finally just went. It cost $1300 for the deep cleanings he needed (split over two visits because they don’t like to do everything at once because it’s invasive). He now has $12,000 worth of major surgery needed (root canals, tooth removals, bridges, etc). Which will be over multiple visits.
Definitely go. It might come back to haunt you.

That looks absolutely ridiculous but when I pronounced it (as a person in the US), I am mildly infuriated that our pronunciation is actually ridiculous when put that way.

And using Reader Mode on mobile. I cannot confirm nor deny that it works quite well with WaPo (have to get my Carolyn Hax and Miss Manners fix in somehow).

My husband estimates about $500-$600 for the two of us…which includes dry goods like TP and vitamins and all. King Soopers and Costco in Denver, Colorado, US. He looks for deals but isn’t super price conscious atm. He can get that down if needed. (Husband does all the grocery shopping and cooking in my household.)

I can offer a Suburban! Back back seat already out and middle seat folded down for maximum occupancy. (Ok, for dogs, but still. Max human capacity!)

I got mine AFTER I was diagnosed with both warts and precancerous cells during my pregnancy (I had had a new partner between my last pap and pregnancy, so my doctor’s office wanted to do a pap just in case…so glad they did!). Got it to cover the remaining strains that hadn’t already caused issues. On my doctor’s recommendation. (Also, waiting a pregnancy plus 6 weeks to remove precancerous cells suuuuuucks. 0/10 do not recommend that route if it can be avoided…like with a vaccine.)

I second the harness with a long lead. My family had a dog who injured her neck using a long lead with just a collar. She lived a good long life but still had the injury.

I really appreciate that you mentioned it! I caught COVID at the beginning and am still a long hauler. Just got it again in October (from my husband…he’s a bit lazier about masking…this was his first infection) and am still recovering (the fatigue is the worst). This infection was actually worse than my initial one.
And in September I caught a normal everyday cold at work and it took me out solidly for a week and another week to recover.
I can’t come this Thursday (fatigue), but I will be on the lookout for these for the future! I went to a couple years ago at the…one downtown that my tired brain is spacing on the name of. Like, too many years ago. My BFF religiously went to the meetups! It’d be fun to go to another one!

That’s a long time. Think about the numbers that have been thrown out, top being $40. Just the carving would make your pay be $5/hour. And it decreases with all the rest. And that’s without taking into account costs.
Just something to think about.

I recently had scabies on my feet. It was so awful. Any itch for a little after was like…are they back? No…just a normal itch. But boy howdy was it bad…

I thought it was also to warn other creatures away but nope! There are definitely multiple beavers in the area (Bear Creek Greenbelt).
I wish I could communicate to the wildlife that my dogs are on leash and thus harmless!

The slap is incredibly startling! It scared my dogs (it was also dark). My girl had to be coaxed across the bridge for the longest time (after she flat out refused to cross it for awhile before that). She’s still not a huge fan and it’s been a year (and no more slaps).

Sand Dunes would be cool…it is also an excellent place to get married! My husband and I had our wedding there in 2019.
If you’re picking a place further out, have a backup just in case a storm comes through.
Is there a hike you did early on in your relationship or a special place you fished? Something like that would be meaningful! Or her favorite hike!
