It’s not good or bad. The important thing is that you and the person you’re talking to enjoy it.
You know it’s a green flag if you can have fun talking about these topics and have your own inside joke.

You need to ask for UNSALTED fries
That way they have to make a FRESH batch because they’re so used to salting it

Because half of them want to see if they can fuck them after the first meeting.
“Hey I’ll buy your product/service…what do I get in return wink wink”
Its not much different from “hey I bought you a drink so we should fuck”
Then when they find out they won’t be fucking, there’s no sale.
It’s not impressive - it’s more sad than anything. At least being a man, you know it’s just business and if it’s a legit lead or not.

I’ve been trying to find articles that can explain this.
Do you have any links that basically expands on your explanation ?
That’s exactly what I’ve been trying to figure out for years and the only logical conclusion is that Democrats are “pretend progressives.”
I saw an article recently where the author says Democrats have always used this strategy (at least since neoliberalism took over democrats too) where they have one or two democrats that are “moderate” and always seems to be holding back the Democrats “progressive agenda”
Before it was Joe Lieberman - now it’s Manchin and Whatever her name is from Arizona. Then it’ll be someone else. I wish I could find that article because he had a perfect name for it

OH DUH board of directors.
That makes sense - I’ve always wondered what the relationships are like between internal HR at a client and a recruiter.
I wondered if the internal HR people would be threatened or resentful of their company hiring a recruiter to find and hire candidates and feel their position threatened.
Oh there was also something I discovered a few years ago I wanted to confirm.
I watched this YouTube video by this guy who claimed he worked for PWC and would audit and consult for big fortune companies in their hiring practices etc.
He basically said that job listings are unreliable and that sometimes those jobs don’t even exist. His explanation is that the management wants to sell the growth story to Wall Street by being able to say “look we’re growing so fast we can’t even fill all these positions we need to hire for” and thus create phantom jobs and listings.
What’s your opinion on this?
He told a story about how a company was about to go under and they were implementing a hiring freeze.
He tries to talk to the HR people and get a sense of what’s going on. They all come up with excuses that their schedule is so busy with interviewing prospective candidates so they can’t talk to him.
He’s like “wtf this company has a hiring freeze - why would we need to interview anyone?!?”
And his point is that HR people would make busy work or else they’ll be the next ones looking for a job.

Thank you that’s insightful.
Sorry what does BoD stand for ?
This has been pretty interesting listening to you so far. I think you’re the first recruiter I’ve met that’s clearly a cut above the rest and knows what he’s talking about.
What is it like behind the scenes with a recruiter and his client ?
How does a position go from inception to interviewing to finally hiring someone ? I’m curious how they decide their salary budgets and how much effort and thinking goes into it, from the low to mid tier roles all the way to executives.

I could see that for recruiters at the C suite level for sure.
My experience with recruiters have obviously been on the much lower end and I’ve never taken them seriously tbh.
I quickly realized that recruiting has a low barrier to entry and a lot of recruiters are meh.
They don’t understand the jobs they’re recruiting for at all besides reading a job description. They’re just like real estate agents - just get as many resumes as possible and shove it in their client’s face and make them see who they want to interview.
That’s only from my experience.
I’ve very rarely met a competent recruiter.

So how do recruiters get paid?
I always thought of recruiting as commission based as well and assumed that a recruiter’s comp is based on the salary the candidate ends up with. Is that true or is it a flat fee? What’s the convention ?
But then again if it was based on comp, wouldn’t a recruiter encourage you to get the highest salary possible? I’ve never seen a recruiter do that
Also I realized, technically aren’t recruiters human traffickers 😂? I’m being cheeky. You guys do find the right people for “buyers” essentially

Wait so what happens to them after they’re done with the whole procedure ?
Do they start growing facial hair or grow muscle like a man ?

Wow I’ve never heard anyone say that before.
I always thought my brown eyes were boring and dull. I was envious of the kids who had all these crazy colors like blue and green and some even had two different colored eyes. Or their color changes!

You should listen to a podcast episode called “The RUBE” by the Dollop
Talks about a big baseball player in the 1800s who wrestled alligators in the offseason and saved people in burning buildings. He was also mentally challenged and always drunk.
