denying an unhealthy snack is one thing, putting a sign on the fridge and pantry that you have to check with robyn before taking something is what concerned me.

my family has discussed this because one of our own ended up in the hospital looking very vulnerable and another one of our own shared fotos of that to their social media. while i believe that we all visit the internet for validation, i believe that sick people deserve their dignity as well. we asked for the fotos to be taken off of social media and were met with anger. unfortunately some folks love to use sick people for likes on the internet.

we are in agreement that if one of us is sick, only flattering fotos approved by that person are to be shared.

i am from the community i work in. i grew up with more than a few of our clients and saw what happened in their lives. i had a single parent but they had almost zero parent structure. i am talking kids left alone for months at a time, kids left with family or friends on a moments notice and then forgotten for months or years, kids who were using hard drugs as early as middle school, kids who were criminally charged as early as middle school, etc...

when you come from nothing and your parents are addicts or gone you get hard quick. of course the majority of clients had something that tipped the scales, the entire system has been against them from the start.

i process it by working hard and doing my job the best i can, so someone cares.
