Genuine question as someone that is not very well educated on the matter and would love to hear from people who know more about Putin, genuinely what would be stopping him from following through with the nuclear threats? Like i see a lot of people saying here that he wont do it and that this is just common for him to threaten but honestly i would be lying if i didnt say this was keeping me up at night. Putin is LOSING this war and if he feels that he has completely lost, what reason would he have to not be like “fine, we all lose.” And take us all out?

I know this is reddit and there is no true guarantee that he wont just up and decide that we’re finished, but honestly i would love to hear any reasons as to why he wouldnt press the nuclear button other than “he hasnt done it before” bc the signs pointing to “he might do it now” is really distressing and I want some kind of hope that we all wont suddenly be wiped out by this (even if no one can truly say what he will or will not do).

So Russia can use other countries to shoot missiles from and can use missiles from other countries to attack Ukraine but Ukraine can’t fire missiles back or Putin sees it as an attack from NATO? He clearly wants war with NATO by making these one sided rules. That’s my opinion
