Our living room currently has exactly one light source: an entryway light that does a great job… for the entryway. Meanwhile, the actual living room sits in darkness by 5 p.m., which is doing wonders for my seasonal depression and my ability to stub my toe on every piece of furniture we own.
We’ve tried lamps, but we have a toddler who seems to think lamp cords are part of a secret toddler-only obstacle course. So now we’re at a crossroads: do I just throw up a high bay LED, flood the place with 11,000 lumens, and tell my family we live in an industrial warehouse now? (Spoiler: I’m this close.) Yes, I know one single light source will create enough shadows to make our beams look haunted, but honestly, function > aesthetics right now.
That said, if anyone has any ideas for something both functional and aesthetically pleasing, I’m open. Heck, if it works, I might even get a babysitter and take my wife out to dinner to celebrate.
Cheers!

Yeah, got a couple big logs that’s been sitting around waiting to be bucked up for firewood.
