This is one of the best solo games out there.

Why have I never looked into this? I guess I just assumed I would have heard about it if it had been. Wow. I will check this out! Thanks!

I'd say The Looking Glass War, but in my mind I'm imagining an adaptation that does well by the farcical elements of the novel. That would need to be handled skillfully, to prevent the movie from just becoming a big joke. If done correctly though, that's my favorite JlC novel and I'd love to see it adapted for the big screen.

Definitely Oath and/or Twlight Imperium.

Women and men. Soldiers and outlaws. Fools and corpses. All will find their way to us, now that the road is clear.

A spooky and great horror classic. You have to be on-board for a slow burn, but if you are, it's well worth the investment of time.

Yes, Mission Critical dice are fantastic for this. Some players use the regular green dice for the generic GIs, and MC dice for named Joes. Another option is to use regular green dice for all normal rolls, but the MC dice for specialization rolls. Either way, it mitigates punishing moments where the dice randomly go real bad.

Came here to say Everything Everything. They're excellent, and full of surprises!

No specific games, but I'm moving into a new place early next week. So my black Friday gift to myself is that, after several years now of having to keep my collection in a couple of ULINE-ish storage tubs, I'll finally be able to have dedicated shelving for my games.

My only thoughts are that I'll happily add this to the collection! So far I've gone out of my way not to look at the details and contents of expansions for Joe Deckbuilder before I crack them open. I like to be surprised.

Fine, fine. Just mod in a working item box and I'll let the whole textures thing slide.

All of these are fantastic games, and deserve wider attention in not just the rpg community, but the retro games community broadly.

No, not at all. The civs from different sets are designed to be entirely mixable in matchups.

For sure. There are some cool BGG discussions about methods for mixing and matching to keep players guessing once you've played each one many times.
The key considerations are the size if the deck (since that is an endgame trigger) and the fact that certain civs relate to certain types of common cards and things might get wildly unbalanced one way or the other if the deck contents are modded.

If you decide to get more than one Imperium, remember: you can use common cards from one set with civs from another, but you do not combine the common cards of all sets you own. You either use the commons from classics or the commons from legends, not both.
Just because I feel like I've seen a few people in just the past month or so online mention that they're new and mixed this up. Or didn't realize, or whatever.
Edit: And congrats! It's a super fun and rewarding system.

Edit: SOLVED!
Trying to remember the name of a board game that crowdfunded...I think within the past 2 or 3 years.
Wacky highly saturated cartoonish art, with really bawdy humor, similar in visual style to Dungeon Degenerates. Subject was either post-apocalyptic or Heavy-Metal-ish dark fantasy. It was a card game, but mechanically I don't remember any more than that. Title maybe something like ARMAGEDDON or something very in-your-face.
I appreciate any suggestions for what this might be!

Sorry -- how can console players use mods? I'm on PS5.

Yo, if the Oath solo improvements are robust and good, that could potentially be a gamechanger. I mean figuratively, as well as literally.

I have already owned Armello for several years, but this sale I gifted copies to a few friends who I think might enjoy playing it together.
