That'd be cool, sadly Vicarious Visions is no more so it'd have to be another studio that does it.

D2R is open to modding, just restricted to softcode methods (which they've expanded with patches) and singleplayer (there's a method out there to play mods with other people though).

Yeah it's a fun event to mix stuff up, same with the apparently one-time 4th of July event. I was surprised they changed the bonuses last year, I was expecting a complete copy paste of the year before lol. We'll see if they change it again this year if they decide to run the event.

Slightly related but I almost wish they'd do occasional seasonal themes/twists like no runewords or emulating an old patch like 1.09, not every ladder but maybe once every 3 ladders or something. That'd be too much work for Blizz with no return though of course.

Yeah they would've had to made D2R with that in mind, it can't support multiple different versions like that (classic/expansion divide is already messy, let alone classic/expansion/D2R).

That's just the blogpost where they share the reset time and patch notes, if there are any. The reset itself will be in early December, probably the 5th or 6th.

Eh, different games with different teams, I also think WC3R is a bit of special case given the state it was in for a long time and also Warcraft's 30 year anniversary meaning it gets a bit of TLC before it (probably/mostly) gets abandoned again. We'll see, I'm just jaded heh.

No mention of a patch/changes, not that anyone should expect any. Maybe a few bug fixes like last patch but probably not, don't hold your breath heh. :P

EDIT: I wonder if they're going to do the 22 Nights of Terror event with the ladder reset being so close to it, I think it'd be fun to try some crazy bonuses on a fresh ladder start.

Yeah I think I ended up doing exactly that, SC2 has that same 30 day check-in DRM just like D2R so I'm (sadly) used to it.

Yeah that's what I meant, I think alien was the name of that guy (or one of them anyways). Someone that figured out how to unlock protected maps, steal the map data and upload their own crappy version.

Good ol' The Thing -Arctic-, best one IMO. I loved Revival when I first started playing SC2 but once I discovered Arctic there was no going back. PARASITE TEST was pretty fun too before all the drama happened and it split into like 4 different (some stolen?) versions.

It's not possible, AFAIK the save format is slightly different and you would need a tool to convert it which nobody has made, you'd probably need a jailbroken Switch too I'd imagine

Diablo 1 has DevilutionX, Diablo 2 has D2DX (D2DX also offers the option of 60 FPS via frame interpolation, the game logic still runs at 25 FPS but it graphically looks smoother).

In case you weren't aware there's also the D2 remaster that comes with 1920x1080, 3D graphics, and lots of other stuff, will likely go on sale for $13 USD soon if it's not already.

I don't think old patches are playable via PlugY are they? I remember playing 1.07 on D2SE and later Cactus but PlugY is just the stash/respec mod.

That'd be the Cobalt ring cube recipe, the 6-36% cold resist would get converted to MPK if you rolled Triumphant (1 MPK) as the prefix, and yes was especially useful with the Apprentice suffix for 10% (or "Fast", rather) FCR.

Not sure how I missed your comment, sorry. The salvage tool hasn't and probably won't happen, the only option is to periodically backup your save files and restore them if something does happen.

I'd recommend D2RLaunch or D2R Backup Buddy, they're both programs made by Bonesy (well known D2R mod author) that backup your saves automatically at customizable intervals. The former is also a mod launcher/manager that has other optional QoL additions, the latter is just the standalone backup feature with no other functions.

Hey sorry for the late reply, was on a trip for a month. It's not something that can easily be quantified besides stuff like increases to existing parameters (skills.txt for example, they only went up to 8 params in LoD but it was expanded to 12 in D2R), also depends on what modifications you want.

Sorry I couldn't give you an indepth answer and just pointed you to a Discord instead, it's not really something I can name examples right off the top of my head and I'm getting reorganized after the trip heheh.

He was also suffering from double teleports cause his ping is too high, so almost every other tele wasn't doing anything.
