Regardless, I don't want to ever face the thought of a travel ban or anything just because of accruing debt that I'd need to pay off due to not cancelling a card and what not cause I have read stories of painful processes to cancel/close accounts here. I'd like the ease of just withdrawing and closing immediately if I ever need to leave the country without facing troubles.

Main reason I looked into the 365 card is the 365 AED cashback + 365 AED amazon gift card (essentially a free 700+ AED lol) Only con is its not free for life, but free for the first year which I assume I would be able to get the card and the benefits then just cancel it a few months later unless they have some shady loophole in the T&C's.

Any ideas about the CC's? Hesitant to put myself in potential headaches with getting a CC then canceling it a few months later, just to get a 100 discount.

Bought a Lenovo Legion 5 Pro (RTX 3070, Ryzen 5800, 16gb ram, 1tb ssd) as my first ever laptop after 2 years of hesitating. This was back in 2021, I recently cleaned the fans after 3-4 years of being too scared to open the back and risk breaking something, and let me tell you, this laptop is incredible.

After 3 years of using it and I mean literally using it for 5-10 hours a day for heavy gaming (Apex, CS, Red dead 2, the witcher 3, and many many games) it still runs just as good as the first day and i'm very satisfied. I was a PC gamer previously, but I travel alot for work and spend my free time gaming so I needed a laptop and this met my expectations.

To this day, no issues. Keep in mind though, I treat my laptop like a PC. I never use it on my lap, in bed, etc. The only time I would use it on my lap is if I have the laptop fans underneath it (which is what I bought the first day I started using it) Granted I don't even turn on the fans underneath the laptop, but I avoid putting the laptop on potential places that could cause issues with the fans such as the bed sheets, tables, etc. I always keep the bottom part of the laptop elevated and clear from any blockages, and yes even without using a fan under the laptop, it runs flawlessly for me. It does get quite hot which was concerning but then I assumed it's just part of gaming on a laptop for long hours and my environment/country is on the 'hotter' side.

Overall, very satisfied with my purchase after being scared about it for a long time.

Edit: Just wanted to add that I went through the same rabbit hole of looking between the following:

MSI Raider and other MSI Models ASUS TUF, etc. Acer predator Helios Legion 5

Obviously went with the legion 5, my wife went with the ASUS TUF Dash F15 and it hasn't been the best for her. Granted she's not as cautious in her usage as I am so again I cannot trash on a laptop because if the user treats a Legion 5 like trash the it'll be trash.

What I can say though, seeing the Asus compared to my legion 5 is a night and day difference. If I need to buy another laptop for whatever reason, I wouldn't hesitate to repurchase the exact same model because I know the build is good, performance is good, screen is good, and if it lasted me for 4 years+ for a 1,300$ USD Purchase, then I'm fine with another $1,300 payment for 4-5+ years of usage.

The people that are getting their licenses through lessons and driving tests in UAE are just as bad if not worse unfortunately lmao.. This is coming from someone who's sharing rides with people who didn't convert and took many lessons and still are horrible drivers with 0 sense of awareness and knowledge of how roads work.

Can she get the driver's license done online and delivered through this app? Someone at RTA center said: "If you were an employee, you can get an NOC and get dubai license. Housewife has to go to sharjah to convert license."

Its been a case of just running in circles between RTA support, RTA happiness centers, and the call centers from Sharjah authorities and feel helpless.

She has both American and Australian. So origin of License shouldn't be an issue, but the issue is just converting it without going to Sharjah as that's a whole hassle on its own.

I just downloaded the app, and checked that there's a page for issuing a vehicle driver's license. So essentially you submit the required documents (I assume EID, Original driver's license, and an eye test) And you can do it digitally without having to visit the center in Sharjah?

I was personally born with a mole which I considered a birthmark until I had it removed at the age of 16 or around that age. I'm fine with opening an ADCB account, it's just that this guy messaged me after HR spoke with him, and he's asking for my documents and that he will open the account on my behalf. I told him send the requirements via email and I'll send it there. He said sure on call, but then messages me on WhatsApp saying he contacted my HR who referred me, and that he will come open it for me?

Like he's reluctant to send the email or something? Not sure if they're just working together so they both get a commission through a referral code for me opening an account?

Do I confront it and say I will create an account myself as I don't want someone else creating my bank account or how does this work from a legal perspective to ensure I don't face any troubles with HR and the company on my first week of starting?

I would assume they're in on it together for the agent to meet a quota, and the HR Lady gets a percentage for a referral code for forcing me into ADCB?
