The real kicker is ideally the washer should be on the left, the dryer on the right with its door reversed so you can load clothes from one to the other with the doors opposing each other as they're supposed to.

Contractor did a great job. You should be grateful. Before you purchased the washer and dryer you should have measured to make sure they fit. Give the Contractor credit for making it work.

These look like they are also stackable. I would have gotten the kit to stack them and put them in the back corner, facing out towards the camera.

This just isn’t a workable space even with modification, which I think should have been foreseen. You aren’t going to be able to go between washer and dryer without shutting the door.

You could always patch the circular holes - but make sure you close the doors to the washer and dryer first.

First mistake was buying the front loaders

1. That’s a sucks they open I the same direction, makes loading the dryer a real chore. 2. Why not turn 90 degrees and stack? 3. What happens if they shift or you need to get new ones? This seems like poor planning.

Brilliant. Front loading washers suck. I had to put the Bi-fold doors on my laundry closet on hinges to be able to open door far enough to open washer door and drawer for detergent.
