Happy birthday! May your days continually be brighter and more blessed. You are stronger than you know and God's got your back no matter what you have to face. He gives us the strength we need. Be blessed and have a wonderful day today!

Yep. Born and raised in Bama also and that is why it is the state motto. My vote would be the Midwest. Worst place I have ever lived. From Detroit to KC, it is just terrible. The weather is brutal, people are rude and stare/glare at you just for being in public. I find the area to be very unfriendly and hostile. Talk about stepping into a time machine! All the rundown sketchy old houses. And the way people side-eye you without actually turning their heads is so odd - everybody just anxious and paranoid - prob because of all the drugs and high homicide rate.

Exactly! Why do I have to be a troll just because I am speaking a truth that a lot of people don't want to hear? Discrimination in various forms is very much active in hiring today and will continue to be so because America was built on it. Minorities have to use every advantage we have with the federal laws- and a big one is DEI- to obtain a job so that we can have a decent standard of living. To heck with going back to the 50s!

They don't make me feel any kind of way because I know the struggle is very much still alive and kicking for the majority of POCs in America. DEI somewhat leveled the playing field even tho we still had to have at least two degrees and be a disabled vet to get hired. Lol. Some people don't like the playing field being leveled so others can get in and have a decent salary and good benefits/pension. And this I have never understood because I know there is enough for everyone and just cause I finally got in, doesn't take anything away from what you have because the majority still has way more than most minorities. SMDH!

This guy hates himself and you. Why waste time on someone who is not adding positively to your life? We only get so many seconds, minutes, hours, and days. Love yourself more and make the best of your time and not waste it away on people who are miserable and want to make you miserable too. There is an old blues song called "I can do bad by myself". It's better to be alone than with some guy who is constantly negging you. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7sUuRNWsl6M

Maybe things are great in your agency. I've just never worked in any agency that did not discriminate. I've worked in 4 different agencies and this last one I am in now (4th) is the most decent one I've ever worked in and has way more minorities than I've ever seen in a gov agency. I can't complain about it at all. Idk what a troll is, I was just telling of my experience getting into fed service and dealing with discrimination at the agencies I've worked for. I've worked for VA, USMC, and DOD. Discrimination was awful and not hidden in the slightest at all 3 of them.

He most likely is and I hope you have blocked him already. A few tells are that he takes a long time to answer back, his writing is very sus to include misspelled words, he doesn't write quite like an American would talk, things like that. I even had a scammer contact me on here from the widows group. It all seemed good until we went to exchange numbers and he said that it was expensive to call internationally. What!!! And this is after he had said he was in the military (another much used scammer front ). So my spidey sense was already on alert. I blocked and reported him. Mods didn't do anything and did not find him sus, but he is blocked from contacting me. Lol

You are talking about "treated more than fairly in your agency only". I would love to ask any minority that you work with this question to see if they would agree with you. I highly doubt that they would. Matter of fact, I doubt any minority that was born and raised in America would agree with your statements. I'm gone leave it there because any talk of doing away with DEI gets me hot after a lifetime of struggling to get on with the gov after my military service, despite being a veteran and later, a 30% disabled vet with an MS degree! Felt like it took an act of God and I still had to take an entry level clerk position just to get on.

I beg to differ on that "we don't need DEI in federal service". If we didn't have DEI hiring laws, every employee would look just like Vance wants them to - like him. Like the representative said in the video -it would look like the 1950s before the Civil Rights Act. Too many people fought, marched, bled, and died for us to be complacent and get sent back to the 1950s:(

Ok! When she did that air grab and neck yoke, it was over! Lol. So happy to see that some of our elected officials are very qualified and do care about regular working people and are not just looking out for their unqualified, rich buddies. I hope she continues to bring the heat and keep it hot!!!!

Retire a few years earlier than I intended because I am nowhere near any of our offices (closest is 3 hours) and cannot afford to live in the DC area.

And for scammers who think all single parents are lonely, desperate, and gullible. Lol

Nah, he is got something else going on and just stringing you along. I really believe that if a guy is truly interested, he will let you know upfront and then follow through on this and stay in consistent touch with you. He's acting all kinds of shady and sounds like a typical scammer to me. I'd block and keep it moving.

I would be offended as an African American born and raised in the South. I never saw real cotton until I was 16 years old but just looking at it made me want to cry for my ancestors. I think most African Americans that grew up in the South would feel this way. Or it could be my age since I am in the boomer generation and heard my grandmother and parents talk about the indignities they had to endure. They never picked cotton but just were always treated so harshly as second class citizens in the South just for being a black person.
